The Vesak Week Celebrating the Te-Mangula to be Held in Kandy from May 26 to June 02

A decision has been made to hold the Vesak celebrations in Kandy from May 26 to June 02, in commemoration of the 2570th Sri Buddha Year which falls on May 30, 2026. This was decided during a discussion held at the Provincial Governor’s Office, presided over by the Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter, Most Venerable (Dr.) Narampanawa Ananda Thero.

Accordingly, a Vesak Week has been organized centered around government institutions, involving school children and education officials in Kandy.

The discussion was attended by Central Province Governor Professor Sarath Abayakoon, Central Province Chief Secretary Ajith Premasinghe, Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatta, and several other government officials.
