The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (24) rejected the bail applications of the three suspects including Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital Specialist Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne, who were remanded.

After considering the arguments presented by the Bribery Commission officers and the defense lawyers, Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga ordered that the suspects be further remanded until next (08).

The Criminal Investigation Department recently arrested three people including Specialist Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne on charges of selling medical equipment to patients at high prices.

රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කර සිටි ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර රෝහලේ විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය මහේෂි විජේරත්න ඇතුළු සැකකරුවන් තුන්දෙනාගේ ඇප ඉල්ලීම් කොළඹ මහේස්ත්‍රත් අධිකරණය විසින් අද (24) දින ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කළේය.

අල්ලස් කොමිසමේ නිලධාරීන් සහ විත්තිය නීතිඥවරු ඉදිරිපත් කළ කරුණු සලකා බැලීමෙන් අනතුරුව කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් තනූජා ලක්මාලි ජයතුංග මහත්මිය එම සැකකරුවන් ලබන (08) දක්වා තවදුරටත් රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කරන ලෙස නියෝග කළේය.

රෝගීන් වෙත වෛද්‍ය උපකරණ වැඩි මිලට අලෙවි කිරීමේ චෝදනාවක් මත විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය මහේෂි විජේරත්න අතුළු තිදෙනෙකු පසුගියදා අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගත්තේය.
