The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Sri Lankan authorities have reached an official agreement to conclude the joint fifth and sixth reviews of Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
Once the agreement is approved by the IMF Executive Board, Sri Lanka will be able to access financial assistance of nearly US$700 million.
A delegation led by the IMF’s Sri Lanka Country Manager, Mr. Evan Papageorgiou, visited the country from March 26 to April 9, and this information was released after the conclusion of the visit.
It has also been stated that after the Executive Board approval of this review, the total financial assistance provided to Sri Lanka by the IMF so far will increase to US$ 2.4 billion.

මෙම එකඟතාවය IMF විධායක මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරනු ලැබූ පසු, ශ්රී ලංකාවට ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 700කට ආසන්න මූල්ය සහායක් ලබා ගැනීමට හැකි වේ.
IMF හි ශ්රී ලංකා මෙහෙයුම් ප්රධානී Evan Papageorgiou මහතාගේ නායකත්වයෙන් යුතු දූත පිරිසක් මාර්තු 26 සිට අප්රේල් 9 දක්වා මෙරට සංචාරයක නිරත වූ අතර, එම සංචාරය අවසන් වීමෙන් අනතුරුව මෙම තොරතුරු ප්රකාශයට පත් කර ඇත.
එසේම, මෙම සමාලෝචනයට විධායක මණ්ඩල අනුමැතිය ලැබීමෙන් පසු, IMF විසින් ශ්රී ලංකාවට මෙතෙක් ලබා දී ඇති සමස්ත මූල්ය සහාය ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් බිලියන 2.4ක් දක්වා ඉහළ යනු ඇතැයිද සඳහන් කර ඇත.
