Minors begging and selling underage children taken into police custody!

The Director, Child and Women Abuse Prevention and Investigation Bureau, the Child and Women Bureau Headquarters and the National Child Protection Authority have launched a special operation to take underage children who are living in unsafe conditions by begging and selling goods and place them in proper custody.
It is reported that this operation has been launched by deploying officers from the Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureaus in the following police divisions: Colombo North, Colombo South, Colombo Central, Nugegoda, Gampaha, Panadura, Kelaniya, Negombo, Mount Lavinia, Kalutara, Tangalle, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Kurunegala, Chilaw, Ratnapura, Galle and Matara, covering densely populated areas and places where the public gather, shopping complexes and signal lights have been installed.
So far, 21 minors who were found living in unsafe conditions begging and selling goods have been taken into custody and steps have been taken to place them in appropriate custody.

කොළඹ උතුර, කොළඹ දකුණ, කොළඹ මධ්යම, නුගේගොඩ, ගම්පහ, පානදුර, කැළණිය, මීගමුව, ගල්කිස්ස, කළුතර, තංගල්ල අනුරාධපුර, මහනුවර, කුරුණෑගල, හලාවත, රත්නපුර, ගාල්ල හා මාතර යන පොලිස් කොට්ඨාස වල ළමා හා කාන්තා අපයෝජන නිවාරණ කාර්යංශවල නිලධාරීන් යොදවා එම කොට්ඨාසයන්හි ජනාකීර්ණ ප්රදේශවල හා මහජනතාව ගැවසෙන වෙළදසැල් සාප්පු සංකීර්ණ, සංඥා පහන් ස්ථාපිතකර ඇති ස්ථාන ආවරණය වන පරිදි මෙම මෙහෙයුම දියත් කර ඇති බව වාර්තා වෙයි.
මේ වනවිට සිඟමන් යදිමින් සහ භාණ්ඩ අළෙවි කරමින් අනාරක්ෂිත ලෙස ගැවෙසෙන ලද බාල වයස්කාර දරුවන් 21 දෙනෙකු භාරයට ගෙන ඇති අතර ඔවුන් සුදුසු භාරකාරත්වයට පත්කිරීමට කටයුතු කර තිබේ.
