A celebration organized by Ceyline for the International Day of the Seafarer was held at the Ceyline Training Center Bolgoda recently. The Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Mr. Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, participated in the event as the chief guest and a large number of experts in the maritime sector participated in the event.
Mr. Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, a naval engineer, shared his experiences with the audience and informed the seafarers about the measures that the government has taken to develop the maritime sector and the measures to be taken in the future. The audience was given the opportunity to ask questions and responding to the issues raised, the Deputy Minister said that as a seafarer himself, he is aware of their problems and is working together to resolve them. The Deputy Minister, who further commented, said that plans are already being implemented to increase the recognition of the maritime profession in Sri Lankan society.

International Day of the Sea farer වෙනුවෙන් Ceyline ආයතනය සංවිධාන කරන ලද සැමරුම් උත්සවයක් පසුගිය දා Ceyline Training Center Bolgoda හි පවත්වන ලදී. වරාය හා සිවිල් ගුවන්සේවා නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය ජනිත රුවන් කොඩිතුවක්කු මහතා ප්රධාන ආරාධිතයෙකු ලෙස මෙම අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වූ අතර නාවික ක්ෂේත්රයේ ප්රවීනයෝ විශාල පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වූහ.
නාවික ඉංජිනේරුවරයෙකු වන ජනිත රුවන් කොඩිතුවක්කු මහතා තමන්ගේ අත්දැකීම් පැමිණ සිටි පිරිස සමග බෙදා ගත් අතර නාවික ක්ෂේත්රය දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා රජය මේ වනවිට ගෙන ඇති ක්රියාමාර්ග සහ ඉදිරියේ දී ගැනීමට නියමිත ක්රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳව පැමිණ සිටි නාවිකයින් දැනුවත් කරන ලදී. පැමිණ සිටි පිරිසට ගැටලු විමසීමට අවස්ථාව ලබා දුන් අතර නැගුණු ගැටලුවලට පිළිතුරු දෙමින් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්යවරයා කියා සිටියේ තමා ද නාවිකයෙකු ලෙස ඔවුන්ගේ ගැටලු හඳුනන අතර එම ගැටලු විසඳීම සඳහා සාමුහිකව වැඩ කරමින් ඇති බවයි. තවදුරටත් අදහස් දැක් වු නියෝජ්ය අමාත්යවරයා පවසා සිටියේ ශ්රී ලාංකීය සමාජය තුල නාවික වෘත්තියට ඇති පිළිගැනීම ඉහල නැංවීම සඳහා මේ වන විටත් සැලසුම් ක්රියාත්මක කරමින් පවතින බවයි.
